View this post on Instagram I’ve posted this on other platforms already so it’s floating around, but here’s the drawing I did earlier today. If you live in Greater Vancouver you’re probably aware of the transit strike situation going on. I 100% stand behind the transit workers and the union in negotiating for a better contract and safer and healthier working conditions. I commute almost every day and see first hand some of the stresses that operators face, but at the same time in just being a passenger, I don’t even experience the half of it, but I hear about it and have heard first hand accounts from friends and acquaintances. It is more than just about wages. Ensuring operators are safe on the job and have adequate breaks is essential. Reducing overcrowding is also an ongoing concern. CMBC needs to hire more drivers, maintain competitive wages, and improve worker benefits and working conditions to ensure a sustainable and healthy transit system, a system that Vancouver has long been lauded for and which we pride ourselves on. As usual, thank you transit workers for everything you do for the city. It’s not an easy job at all ❤️ A post shared by ✨🌻 queer artist 🌻🌈 (@aristhoughtart) on Nov 3, 2019 at 8:04pm PST
