To feel secure

Heart placed,
Like porcelain on a silver platter
Snap, bend, break, shatter
There go my bones
So feeble, brittle like glass
Voice, so tongue tied
Slurred syllables, why bother
Can’t hear the whispers
Spine creaks, shakes-
Olden floorboards
Hollow and cobwebbed,
Furniture heaving and sinking
What do you stand for?
Bricks long crumbled
Breath long gone
Teeth falling out, now
They pick up the pieces
They laugh and laugh
Bury my bones, forget
Shaking in tearing skin
Flesh and bone,
Paper thin.
